John S. Anderson, 81, of the Short Mountain community died Friday morning, March 28, at Stones River Hospital in Woodbury.He was born July 7, 1932 to his parents, the late James Alvis and Haley Cox Anderson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.Mr. Anderson was a U.S. Army veteran, a Baptist, and a retired factory worker. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Elma Anderson of the Short Mountain community; son Jerry Anderson Sr., of Kentucky; three grandchildren, Jerry Anderson Jr., Crystal Pruitt and Heather Anderson; several great and great-great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with James Hayes officiating.
