McMinnville resident and Clearwater, Fla., native John A. Tipton, 68, was born May 14, 1945 and died May 1 at his residence.A retired employee of Century Electric and a Jehovah’s Witness, he was the son of the late Earl S. and Edna M. Williams Tipton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Larry A. Tipton, and sister, Marlene Henson.Mr. Tipton was married May 18, 1975 to Barbara A. Hawk Tipton of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Kenneth G. Tipton of McMinnville and John Paul Tipton of Cane Ridge; stepdaughter, Darlene (Allen) Rising of McMinnville; brother, Raymond Tipton of Norfolk, Calif., and two sisters, Donna Bookman and Darlene Able, both of California.A memorial service will be held at Kingdom Hall, Saturday, May 10, at 3 p.m. with Roger Faulk officiating.High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.Southern Standard (McMinnville, Tenn.)
