McMinnville resident and Warren County native Joe Lane Cantrell, 87, was born Sept. 14, 1936 and died July 2, 2024 in NHC Healthcare of McMinnville following an extended illness.

A retired structural engineer and member of the First Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Keffer and Mary Ellen Medlen Cantrell.

Mr. Cantrell was married Nov. 25, 1961 to Evelyn Ogle Cantrell of McMinnville who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Jolene (Jeff) West of Mt. Juliet and Lane (Holly) Cantrell of McMinnville and five grandchildren, aka "Pa Joe's Dream Team", Ethan West, Emily West, Owen West, Trey (Emma) Cantrell and Tucker Cantrell.

Graveside service and interment will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, July 5 at Mt. View Cemetery with Jeff Owens to officiate. Visitation will be Friday from noon until 3 p.m. at High's.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or your favorite charity.
