McMinnville resident and White County native Joe Donald Myers, 68, was born Feb.3, 1944 and died Dec. 20 at his residence following an extended illness.A retired officer with Woodbury Police Department and member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Paul and Jennie Belle Myers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Paul Otto Myers Jr., Johnny Bradford Myers, and twin brother James Arnold Myers.He is survived by his wife, Regina Gipson Myers of McMinnville; two daughters and son-in-law, Jodie and Brent Barnes of Phoenix, Ariz., and Melissa Myers of McMinnville; four sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Rachel Collins of Lewisburg, Stephen and Sarah Bess and Mark Myers, all of McMinnville and Scotty Bess of Phoenix, Ariz.; three granddaughters; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy Carroll and Helen Myers and Jackie T. and Carol Myers, all of McMinnville, Charlie L. and Brenda Myers of Bone Cave, and Bruce D. and Beverly Myers of Murfreesboro; three sisters and brother-in-law, Betty J. and Burnice Hubbard of Fitzgerald, Ga., Judy Rogers of Gallatin, and Janice Bowen of Newport Beach, Calif., and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today in High’s Chapel with Cos Hobert Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Skurlock Cemetery in White County.
