Surrounded by family, Jewel Overstreet passed away in Zephyrhills, Fla., on April 26, 2023 at the age of 88. She was born to Mercel and Marygold Hickey on Dec. 6, 1934 at her grandparents’ home in Tampa, Fla. She wed Marion Overstreet in 1953, and they were married until his death in 1991. They had three children: Joy, Debbie and Skeeter. In 1967, the family moved to Zephyrhills from Tampa. Jewel was a homemaker who sewed clothing for her daughters, cooked three meals a day for her family and made incredible desserts. She was a quiet, sweet and strong-willed person who loved NASCAR, country music, murder mysteries, margaritas and, most of all, her family who will dearly miss her.

She is predeceased by her husband Marion; her brothers, Dick Key, Joseph “Bo” Hickey, Clarence Hickey and Eugene Hall; and her great-grandson, Jace Hardwick. She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Flack; her three children, Joy (Terry) Linville, Debbie (Mark) Kell, and Skeeter (Angela) Overstreet; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Linville, Erwin Tupper, Amanda Moss, Nick Linville, Maranda Dozier and Ashley Overstreet-Hardwick; her step-grandchildren, Rocky Woolfolk and Kalym Klaber; and numerous great-grandchildren.
