McMinnville resident and Warren County native Janice Faye Rutledge Rowland died at Ascension St. Thomas Hospital in McMinnville on May 21 following an extended illness.
A retired registered nurse and a member of Laurel Creek Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Iris Lucille McCormick Rutledge. She was married to Gerald Edmond Rowland on Dec. 18, 1984. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Junior, Eddie, and Jerry Rutledge and sisters, Shirley Armstrong and Patricia Rutledge.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Rowland is survived by three children and son-in-law, Patsy Young of Johnson City, Denise and Matt Howard of Sparta, and Kimberly Chapman of McMinnville, nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, three sisters and brother-in-law, Kathleen Randolph of Sparta, Ruby Cole of Walling, and Linda and Donald Huffman of North Carolina, brother Billy Rutledge of McMinnville, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, at High’s Chapel with Roy Terry officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m., and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
