McMinnville resident and Niles, Mich., native, James Verlon Orrick, 91, was born Au. 9, 1930 and died Feb. 6 at his residence in McMinnville following an extended illness.
A retired quality inspector with Carrier and a member of Unity Church of Christ, he was the son of the late James Howard and Ida Elizabeth Tucker Orrick. He was married on Feb. 5, 1949 to Mary Inez Tubb Orrick, who preceded him in death on Aug. 4, 2012. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by sons Michael and Jerry Orrick and sister Louise Barnes.
Mr. Orrick is survived by daughter Terri (Buddy) Foutch of McMinnville, son David (Tammy) Orrick of McMinnville, daughter-in-law Kathy Orrick of Mt. Juliet, grandson Kevin Orrick of Nashville, Brian (Dorinda) Biggs of Mt. Juliet, granddaughters Sarah (Michael) Lokey, Lakelyn Foutch (Taylor Welch), and Jennifer Greggory, all of McMinnville, and Rachael (Dara) Foutch of LaVergne, great-grandchildren Finn, Brooklyn, Theo, Briana, Tristan, Dakota, Emmy, and Atalaya and great-great-grandchild, Ashton.
He was known and loved by everyone as “Papa.”
Graveside service and interment will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at Bethany Cemetery in Warren County with Charles Williams officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at High’s. The Orrick family respectfully request all visitors wear a mask.
