Mr. James Reuben Hale, 85, of McMinnville died Saturday, Aug. 4, at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville.
He was born Sept. 11, 1932, in Smithville, was a retired machinist with Ford Motor Company, a veteran with the U.S. Army during the Korean War, member of Ezel Masonic Lodge No. 381, Order of the Eastern Star Lodge No. 349, and Long Mountain The Baptist Church. Mr. Hale was preceded in death by parents Skiler and Cora Hathaway Hale, daughter Frances Hale, son Gary Hale, sister Willie Pauline Hale, and brothers Bernice Hale and Wilbert Hale.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Stuart Abramson, grandchildren Stacey, Shelby, and Ryan Abramson, great-grandchild Blake Abramson, and very special friend Janice Johnson. Other family members and friends also survive.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Elder Tim Baker will officiate. Interment will follow at Whorton Springs Cemetery in Smithville. Military grave rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
