James Reed Cantrell, 81, of McMinnville died Sunday, April 29, at his residence. He was born Oct. 6, 1930, in DeKalb County and was a retired employee of AEDC, and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Cantrell was preceded in death by parents Zollie Adron and Shirley Clay Love Cantrell; his wife, Bobbye Mae Oakes Cantrell; brothers, Norman Cantrell and Royce Cantrell; and sister, Josie Love.Survivors include daughter, Karen Adcock and husband, Tracy Lynn Adcock; son, James Ernie Cantrell; grandchildren, Morgan Reed Adcock, William Davis Adcock, Eric Hunter Cantrell and Katy Mae Cantrell, sisters, Elizabeth Lafever, Gladys and Claude Buck, Rubye Cantrell, Joyce Crosslin, and Linda and Baxter Hillis, brother Gordon and Jane Ann Cantrell, and sisters-in-law, Bennie Cantrell and Hattie Jo Cantrell.Funeral service was held Tuesday at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel.
