McMinnville resident and Warren County native James Laryon Blake, 53, died June 28 at his residence after an extended illness.A self-employed drywall finisher, he was preceded in death by his father, James R. Blake; maternal grandfather, Ernest McBride; maternal grandmother, Willie McBride; uncle, Glyen McBride; and aunt, Omega Lawson.He is survived by mother and stepfather, Joyce and Sid McBride Matheny of McMinnville; sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and Joe Hennessee of Manchester; brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Anita Rains of Antioch; halfsisters and brothers-in-law, Tammy Blake and Rob Grimes, Christy Blake Adams, and Sherry Blake and Eric Nicholoson, all of London, Ky.; stepsisters, Jessica Ferrell of Smithville and Felicia McPeak of Lebanon; nephews, Eric and Vanessa Hennessee of Murfreesboro, Charlie Cale Hennessee of Manchester, Kyle, Caleb and Cole Rains, all of Antioch; aunts and uncles, Katherine and Alton Bottoms, Jerri and Harold Hillis, Richard and Kathy Rogers, all of McMinnville, Christine Needum of Denton, Texas, and James Dale and Martha McBride of Rock Island; special aunt, Melba McBride; and many cousins.Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at High’s Chapel with Cordell Crawford officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery.
