Jackie Lee Hood, 55, of McMinnville died Saturday, Sept. 7 at NHC Healthcare of McMinnville after an extended illness.He was born in Guntersville, Ala., on Dec. 14, 1957, the son of the late Margie P. (Morton) and Athron T. Hood. He was a factory worker and attended the Church of God. He is survived by six sisters, Violet Louria, of McMinnville, Lois (Hood) Miller and husband Alton, of Taylor Mich., Betty (Hood) Bowles, of Cedartown, Ga., Sarah (Hood) Ponder of Manchester, Linda (Hood) Coy of Florida, Brenda (Hood) Hill and husband Jeff, of McMinnville; two brothers, Anthony Hood, of McMinnville and James W. Hood of Cedartown, Ga.; aunt, Myrtle Morton Holland of McMinnville; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, Athron Thomas and Margie Pearl (Morton) Hood; one brother, John W. Hood; and one sister, Margia (Hood) UrbanFuneral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home Chapel with Linda Coy officiating.
