Howard Sidney Hanson, 81

McMinnville resident and Gillett, Wis., native Howard Sidney Hanson, 81, was born Feb. 8, 1932 and died Jan. 22 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville following a one-month illness.
A retired serviceman with the United States Air Force, a veteran of Vietnam, and a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, he was the son of the late Sidney Russell and Lucille Lillian Luebeck Hanson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Gerald Hanson.
He was married April 18, 1964 to Willis Mae Hanson of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Charmaine and Waylon Fincher of McMinnville; two grandsons, Colton and Logan Fincher, both of McMinnville; sister-in-law, Joanne Hanson of Green Bay, Wis.; and two nieces, Cheryl Bergstrom of Green Bay, and Paula Hanson of Fon du Lac, Wis.
Funeral service will be held at noon Saturday in High’s Chapel with Chris Keele officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery with full military honors administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at High’s. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
