Elder Howard E. Hooper, 86, of Rock Island, died Lord Wednesday, Oct. 14, with family by his side at home. He was born Sept. 7, 1929, in DeKalb County, retired after a 29-year career with Century Electric, was ordained as a Baptist minister in 1962 and pastored Pilgram, Newtown, Mt. View, Spring Hill, New Hope, Spring Creek, and Spring Street The Baptist Churches.
