Mrs. Helen Doreen Wooten Gonder, 94, passed away Friday, March 25, at the Webb House in McMinnville.
Doreen was born June 29, 1927. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Forrest Gonder, parents Mrs. Susan Elizabeth Dodson Wooten and Rufus Marion Wooten, and infant brother Jesse Gordon Wooten.
Doreen was a kind, precious Christian and spent her latter years crocheting prayer shawls for local churches and other beautiful crocheted gifts for family and friends. She was a graduate of Grundy County High School and worked for the United States Department of Agriculture for 41 years in McMinnville.
She is survived by son Rufus Warner (Donna) Gonder, daughter Nancy Elizabeth (Mike) Garrison, three grandsons Cameron Rufus (Kara) Gonder, Morgan Warner (Charli) Gonder, and Michael Jesse (Jessica) Garrison, five great-grandchildren Edyn Isabella Gonder, Parker Avery Warner Gonder, Maggie Warner Gonder, Watson Wright Gonder, and Esme Dee Garrison.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 2, from 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at McMinnville Funeral Home with a graveside ceremony immediately following at 1:30 p.m. at Wesley’s Chapel Cemetery near Viola. Online condolences made be made at www.mcminnvillefuneralhome.com.
