McMinnville resident and Chickamauga, Ga., native Glenn Alford Ayers, 66, was born February 10, 1950 and died Oct. 10 at his residence following a four-month illness. A retired employee of Yorozu and a member of Shellsford Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Condy Lee “Cowboy” and Virginia Dell Sowell Ayers. He is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Michelle and Carl Dodson of McMinnville and Angela Gunter of McMinnville; two granddaughters, Jaslynn Gunter and Mia Gunter both of McMinnville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lynn and Virginia Ayers of McMinnville and Buford and Debbie Ayers of McMinnville; great-nieces and great-nephews, Haley and Kacie Newby, Condy, Ellie Kate and Bo Ayers, and Colby & Blaine Blankenship; aunts, Sally Haynes and husband Robert of Chattanooga and Hilda Jane Sowell of Sylvania, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
