Glenn Alford Ayers died October 10 at his residence.

McMinnville resident and Chickamauga, Ga., native Glenn Alford Ayers, 66, was born February 10, 1950 and died Oct. 10 at his residence following a four-month illness.
A retired employee of Yorozu and a member of Shellsford Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Condy Lee “Cowboy” and Virginia Dell Sowell Ayers.
He is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Michelle and Carl Dodson of McMinnville and Angela Gunter of McMinnville; two granddaughters, Jaslynn Gunter and Mia Gunter both of McMinnville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lynn and Virginia Ayers of McMinnville and Buford and Debbie Ayers of McMinnville; great-nieces and great-nephews, Haley and Kacie Newby, Condy, Ellie Kate and Bo Ayers, and Colby & Blaine Blankenship; aunts, Sally Haynes and husband Robert of Chattanooga and Hilda Jane Sowell of Sylvania, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14 in High’s Chapel with Steve Breedlove, David Grissom, Jeff Robinson, Jeff Hendrix and Jerry Steakley officiating. Burial will follow in Crain Hill Cemetery, Van Buren County. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Friday at High’s.
