George Washington Roberts Sr., 84

McMinnville resident and Warren County native George Washington Roberts Sr., 84, was born May 7, 1927 and died June 19 at Raintree Manor following an extended illness.
A Baptist minister and a United States Army veteran of Korea, he was the son of the late Isiah and Lou Barnes Roberts. He was married to Berta Leola Bess Roberts, who preceded him in death Jan. 26, 2010. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, John Roberts.
He is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, George Washington and Beverly Dianne Roberts Jr. of Morrison, Terry Lee Roberts of McMinnville, Barry Lynn “Fuzz” and Carol Roberts of Irving College, and Paul David Roberts of Gainesboro; four grandchildren and their spouses, Laurie Ann Roberts and Billy Wayne Delong of McMinnville, Julie Leann Roberts and Ryan John Jagoda of Casco, Mich., Aaron Michael and Hollie Roberts of Morrison and Jessica Danielle Roberts of Morrison; six great-grandchildren, McKenzie Roberts and Benjamin Smith, both of Morrison, Timothy David Delong and Ashley Danielle Rarick, both of McMinnville, and Anna Caitlin Jagoda and Jason Michael Jagoda, both of Casco, Mich.; one sister, Pauline Muncie of Philadelphia, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today in High’s Chapel with Dal Barrett officiating. Burial will follow at Shellsford Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service today at High’s.
High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
