Mr. George Fredrick Speckhart, 75, of McMinnville died Sunday, Nov. 25, at Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro.


He was born Dec. 6, 1942, in Quincy, Ill., was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a scheduling manager with Carrier Air Conditioning, and a member of Bluff Hall Evangelical Free Church, VFW Post 5064, and American Legion Post 173. Mr. Speckhart was preceded in death by parents Albert Frederick Speckhart and Elsie Kappner Speckhart Heitholt, brothers Albert Speckhart Jr., Raymond Speckhart, Jim Speckhart, and Terry Speckhart, and stepdaughter Kristi Baker.


Survivors include his wife of 26 years Linda Speckhart, daughter Annette (Bernard) Kurtzweil and stepdaughter Shayna Hickey, grandchildren Emily Kurtzweil, Erika Kurtzweil, Peyton Baker, and Tyler Brinkley, sister Viola Schmiedeskamp, and sisters-in-law Mary Speckhart, Marilyn Speckhart, Wanda Speckhart, and Linda Speckhart. Many nieces, nephews, and family friends also survive.


Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Dennis Clark will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Military grave rites will be administered by American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064. The Speckhart family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at McMinnville Funeral Home.
