Rock Island resident and Warren County native Garey Truman Steakley, 65, was born Sept. 4, 1945 and died Aug. 2 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro following a brief illness. A retired truck driver with Kendall Medical Supply, he was the son of the late Murphy Ray and Mona Mai Johnson Steakley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Michelle Steakley Adcock, brothers Ernest Jewell and Ronald Dwight Steakley, and sister Barbara Ann Ferrell.
