Rock Island resident and Warren County native Fred Wayne Ware Sr., 69, was born Nov. 27, 1941 and died May 23 at River Park Hospital following a sudden illness.An employee of Martin Crating Company, United States Army and Tennessee Army National Guard veteran and member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late John Wayne and Eva Jean Christian Ware.He was married June 21, 1969 to Wilma Garnett Prater of Rock Island. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Fred Wayne and Traci Ware Jr. of Rock Island; daughter, Eva Tanner of McMinnville; stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Melissa and Jim Keiss of Knoxville; four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one step-great-grandchild; brother, Johnny Ware of McMinnville; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Jean and Willard Butcher of McMinnville and Judy McGlothen of Rock Island; mother-in-law, Mary Jane Prater of the Centertown Community and several nieces, nephews and cousins.Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in High’s Chapel with Titus Ward officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery with full military honors administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
