Fred Alton Yates Sr., 95, of McMinnville died Thursday, May 18, at Raintree Manor Nursing Center in McMinnville. He was born Nov. 4, 1921, in Winchester, was a retired supervisor with Peery Construction, served his country with the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a member of Locust Street Church of God. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Pauline Young Yates, sons Billy Wayne Yates, Jerry Allen Yates, and Fred A. Yates Jr., and great-grandson, Corey Slatton.Survivors include Lisa (Chris) Gilder, Teresa Haston, and Kim (Kenny) Roberts, and great-grandchildren, Peyton Haston, Christina Walker, Brady Gilder, and Tiffany Slatton.Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 21, at Locust Street Church of God.
