Frances Liggett Selph, 78

Frances Liggett Selph was born Sept. 2, 1932 and died at Alive Hospice in Nashville on May 17.
She graduated from Peabody Demonstration School, married in 1950, and was a wonderful homemaker and mother. Later she created a business out of her hobby of antiquing. She was a very active member of Belle Meade United Methodist Church and sang in the choir for many years. She devoted her life to her family, many friends, and giving to those less fortunate.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.M. and Alice Liggett of Franklin, her husband W. Robert Selph Sr., and her sister, Mary Ann Butterfield.
She is survived by her children, W. Robert (Bob) Selph Jr. (Trisha) of Franklin, Peggy Selph Bratcher (Thomas) of McMinnville, and William Liggett (Bill) Selph (Nancy) of Nashville. Grandchildren include Dr. Patrick Selph (Pamela) of Durham, N.C., Robert S. Selph, Dr. Lara Bratcher Harvey (Kevin) of Boston, Mass., Robert Bratcher, Marshall Bratcher, Anna Selph, and great-grandchild, Wyatt Selph.
A memorial service will be held at Belle Meade United Methodist Church today at 1 p.m. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Elephant Sanctuary, P.O.
