Eva Green Hiter, 85

Mt. Juliet resident and White County native Eva Green Hiter, 85, died Aug. 15.
Formerly of McMinnville, she was the daughter of the late George Dewey and Mary M. McCormack Green and was a homemaker and member of Center Chapel Church of Christ. She loved to sew and quilt and also loved VBS and to serve others. She was a foster mother to 81 newborn babies she kept until adoption.
 She was married to Joseph William “Sugar Bump” Hiter, who preceded her in death Oct. 5, 2003. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings Johnny Green and Leona Green Smith.
She is survived by sons John (Jan) Hiter and Joseph (Renetta) Hiter, daughters Bennie Kay (Chuck) Mitter and Linda Sue Hiter, sister Zada Green (Gordon) Mitchell, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family requests no flowers please. Memorials may be made to Center Chapel Church of Christ building fund, Alive Hospice, or the Parkinson’s Foundation.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at High’s Chapel with Tim Long officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 11 a.m. till time of service at High’s.
High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
