Rock Island resident and Greenville, Ohio native Eugene Dale Darland, 66, died Oct. 13 at his residence.A retired machinist with McMinnville Tool & Die, he served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.The son of the late Bernard Clark and Cona Lee Clem, he is survived by his wife, Mary Myers Darland; children and spouses, Rick Darland and Daniel Darland of Ohio, Dale and Karen Darland of Murfreesboro, Bernard and Sharon Darland of Murfreesboro, Dorothy Lyle of Morrison, Connie Jaco of LaVergne, Frances Adams of Watertown; Sharon and Henry MaGuffin of Manchester, and Ben and Kristy Adams of Rock Island; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at High’s Chapel with burial following at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
