Edith Goins Lewis, 99

McMinnville resident and LaFollette native Edith Goins Lewis, 99, was born Nov. 1, 1921 and died May 10 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould, AR following an extended illness.

A homemaker and member of Central Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Helen Goins.  She was married on June 25, 1948 to George Ollin Lewis, who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son-in-law Jackie Ferrell, sister Marie Goins, and six brothers, Ronnie, Earl, Carl, Taylor, Ken, and Kermit Goins. 

Mrs. Lewis is survived by daughter, Lisa Ferrell of Jonesboro, AR; granddaughter Cassie Helen Ferrell of Brookland, AR; grandson Coy Lewis Ferrell of Jonesboro, AR, sister Bonnie Smith of Monroe, MI, two brothers, Robert Goins of Newport Richey, Fla., and David Goins of LaFollette, Tenn., several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside service and interment was held at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 13, at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville with Jerrie Barber officiating. Friends and family will meet at the cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
