Dr. Hugh Curtis Erwin, 91

Dr. Hugh Curtis Erwin, 91, of Glasgow died Wednesday, April 2, in Glasgow, Ky.
Dr. Erwin was born in Chattanooga on March 10, 1923 to the late Thomas and Edna Erwin. Also predeceased are his sons John and Ray Erwin, brother Thomas A. Erwin Jr., and sister Myrtie Mae Erwin McNeil.
Dr. Erwin served three years in the United States Army Signal Corp in World War II. Following his military service, he graduated from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky., and received an honorary doctorate of theology from Bethel Baptist College in Hopkinsville, Ky. He has served as senior pastor in Owensboro, Greenville and Glasgow, Ky. He also served in McMinnville. He was named pastor emeritus at Glasgow Baptist Church in Glasgow.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Wallace Erwin, and they recently celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary. He is also survived by his brother John M. Erwin of Maitland, Fla., and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was Sunday, April 6, at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to T.J. Samson Hospice Program or Glasgow Baptist Church.
