Former McMinnville resident Dorothy Newby was born March 30,1919 in Dalton in Furness, England and died April 6 at Hendersonville Hospital following a brief illness.She was a lifelong member of many Churches of Christ in Canada, Michigan and Tennessee.She was the daughter of the late Nelson and Margaret Wearing. Mrs. Newby was married Feb. 18, 1946 to Arthur C. Newby, who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marjorie Martin.Mrs. Newby is survived by four children, Marguerite (Bill) Loudermilk of McMinnville, Barbara (John) Broadway of Gallatin, Arthur (Connie) Newby of Bethpage, and Joy Newby of Gallatin; 11 grandchildren, Lisa (Martin) Bell of McMinnville, Wyatt (Tina) Loudermilk of McMinnville, Garner (Nicole) Loudermilk of Sparta, Danny (Megan) Broadway of Roswell, Ga., Andy (Michelle) Broadway of Murfreesboro, Bethany (Chuck) Billingsley of Gallatin, Brooke Siegel of Nashville, Dana (Jeremy) Case of Gallatin, Bonnie (Ethan) Bowles of Nashville, Eric (Tonya) Gregory of Bowling Green, Ky., and Chris (Jaime) Gregory of Bowling Green, Ky.; and 15 great-grandchildren, Christian and Calley Loudermilk, Riley and Abigail Broadway, Drew and Charles Broadway, Hannah Billingsley, Sid and Zoe Siegel, Isabella and David Case, Amber, Audrey, Ethan and Camden Gregory.A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Salem Cemetery in McMinnville.
