McMinnville resident and Warren County native Dorothy Evelyn Chambers Norrod, 83, was born Jan. 1, 1932 and died Jan. 4 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro following a sudden illness.
Co-owner and business manager of Norrod Garage and a member of East End Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late J.A. and Sarah Elizabeth Bell Chambers. She was married Jan. 14, 1950 to Wilburn Lindon Norrod, who preceded her in death Sept. 23, 2008. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by stepmother Flora Chambers; sister Sarah Capshaw; and three brothers, Harry, Nelson and J.L. Chambers.
She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Richard and Carolyn Norrod of Mt. Juliet and Bradley Steven Norrod and Mary Pendergraph of McMinnville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ina Catherine and Ed Hennessee of Murfreesboro and Virginia “Jenny” and John Endicott of Marietta, Ga.; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers and sister-in-law, Myron and Judy Chambers of Franklin, and Byron and Carol Chambers of McMinnville; and sister-in-law, Nora Bell Chambers of McMinnville.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in High’s Chapel with Kevin Key and Doris Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at High’s.
