A graveside service for Dora Ruth “Dolly” Himes, 92, of Shelbyville and McMinnville was held Aug. 31 at Willow Mount Cemetery with Christian Smith officiating. Mrs. Himes died Thursday, Aug. 24.She was born June 18, 1925 in Oakland, Calif., to the late Archie F. Prosser and Mamie Sharp Prosser and was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ollie E. Himes; sisters Eva Gammill, Mabel O’Donniley, June Savage, Jane Dial and brother Charles “Sonny” Prosser.Dolly was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and attended Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and Chestnut Ridge Presbyterian Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.Survivors include daughter, Martha (Dennis) Baird of McMinnville; grandchildren, Bart Baird, Bradley (Donna Byford) Baird, and Becky (John) Partin; great-grandchildren, Amelia Claire and Evelyn Ruth Partin; brothers-in-law, Marion Savage, Huron Dial, and Jerry Anible; and sister-in-law, Virginia Mae Anible.
