McMinnville resident and Van Buren County native Dolan Hugh Sullivan, 77, was born Feb.17, 1939 and died Dec. 30 at his residence following an extended illness.
The owner of Budget Auto Sales and a member of Sunny Hills Baptist Church where he was a deacon, he was the son of the late Titus Sullivan and Willie Beatrice Sullivan Yates. In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by stepfather, Radford Yates; son Kenneth Hugh Sullivan; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Foster and Lucille Turner Sr.; sister-in-law, Sherry Grissom; and two brothers-in-law, Rick and Jim Turner.
He was married to Dorothy Mae Turner Sullivan of the Centertown community. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Charm Denise Sullivan of the Centertown community; two grandsons, Justin Glenn Greene and fiancée Kim Grizzle, and Jaylon Hugh Greene, all of the Centertown community; three great-grandchildren, Brycen Lee, Makenna Brook and Jusley Karr Greene; step-grandchild, Elaina Turner; halfbrother and his wife, Jim R. and Betty Kell Yates of McMinnville; two halfsisters, Shirley Marie Smith and husband Brady, and Kathy Ann Yates, all of Van Buren County; three brothers-in-law, Foster Turner Jr. and wife Judy, Tom Turner, and Kenneth Turner, all of McMinnville; and three sisters-in-law, Sabrina Farless and Brenda Roberts, both of McMinnville, and Mary Sewell and husband Todd of Murfreesboro.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2 in High’s Chapel with John Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Long Cemetery, Van Buren County. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com
