Dock Bennett Wanamaker, 78

Dock Bennett Wanamaker, 78, a Grundy County resident and native, was born Feb. 8, 1941 and passed away April 17 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was a retired employee of Pro-pack Crating Company, of the Baptist faith and son of the late Malcolm Ray and Mae Emma Coppinger Wanamaker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Jerry Wanamaker; and nephew Kenneth Wanamaker.

Mr. Wanamaker is survived by daughter Halona Brooke Wanamaker of McMinnville, son and daughter-in-law Dock Bennett and Melissa Wanamaker Jr. of Dowelltown, granddaughter Farris Quinn Kennedy; three sisters, Joann Bishop of Hazel Green, Ala., Rachel Birdwell of McMinnville, and Linda Wanamaker of Nashville, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 19, at High’s Chapel with Jason Brown to officiate. Interment will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Friday until the time of service at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
