David Memory Pruitt, 60

McMinnville resident and Asheville, N.C., native David Memory Pruitt, 60, died Nov. 7 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center after a one-year illness.A law enforcement officer with the Warren County Sheriff’s Department and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, he served on the ship USS Shenandoah. He spent 25 years in law enforcement, 20 of those years in Warren County. He also served with Jackson, Cannon and Overton counties and the Monterey City Police.The son of the late Tommy and Mary Miller Pruitt, he is survived by his wife, Marlene Colvin Pruitt; daughters and son-in-law, Shawn and Jimmy Patterson of Cookeville, and Missy Patton of McMinnville; grandchildren, Austin Patterson, Chris Patton, Nikki Patterson, Katie Patterson and David Patton; sisters and brother-in-law, Carol Fish of Chandler, N.C., Kathy and Barry Bowman of Franklin, N.C.; several nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with Jackie Matheny officiating.
