David Lee Davis, 56, of Soak Creek, W.Va., formerly of McMinnville, died at his residence Aug. 18.
He was born Sept. 8, 1957 to Oakley and Bertha (Askers) Davis in Beckley, W.Va. He was a retired laborer who loved the outdoors and fishing. He enjoyed raising his kids and enjoyed the little things in life.
He is survived by his three children including daughters, Jessica (husband Rodney) Currey of McMinnville, and Leighann (partner Jacqueline) Davis of Buffalo, Ill.; and son, Jeremy Lee Davis of Rock Island; six grandchildren who he loved and cared for deeply, Trent, Summer, and Brian Currey of McMinnville, Adrian Davis and Jarod Cantrell of Buffalo, Ill., and Isabella Davis of Rock Island; siblings, Mary (Rick) Puffenbarger of Ghent, W.Va., Ann (James) Reed of Basin, W.Va., Connie (Fred) Akers of Flat Top, W.Va., Martha (Lewis) Hylton of Cool Ridge, W.Va., Elisa (Kenny) Farley of Fairdale, W.Va., Louella (Roger) Daugherty of Long Branch, W.Va., Nora Thomas of Long Branch, W.Va., Sue West of Whitby, W.Va., Davis (Rose) Davis of Scabro, W.Va., Arthur (Wanda) Davis of Pennsylvania, Arnold Davis of Whitby, W.Va., Roger Davis of Odd, W.Va.,  and Claude (Libby) Davis of Fireco, W.Va.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Dickie Davis, Eddie Davis, and John Wayne Davis and one sister Elizabeth Mitchem.
