McMinnville resident and Detroit, Mich., native Darrell Stephen Dotson, 67, was born May 29, 1951 and died Feb. 6 at Manchester Healthcare Center following a brief illness.
Darrell had a love for life! A Christian, he thoroughly enjoyed vintage audio and video. His favorite hobby was music, from Irish Scottish Celtic through heavy metal to modern country. He was a connoisseur of vintage audio. Music was his pleasure, his life’s love, and spent many hours of refined listening on his amazing audio system. His spirit and music will echo an eternity!
A member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Clyde Delbert and Audine Blankenship Dotson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by uncles, Edwin Blankenship and J.B. Blankenship Jr.; maternal grandfather Bertland Blankenship; maternal step-grandmother Janie Blankenship; maternal grandmother Willie Ray Blankenship; and paternal grandparents, Dotson.
He is survived by brother and sister-in-law Dr. David and Thu Dotson of Holt, Mich.; nephew, Alexander Dotson of Holt, Mich.; niece, Marilyn Dotson of Holt; aunts Mamie Blankenship Prater and husband Gene, Betty Blankenship and Brenda Blankenship, all of McMinnville; and numerous cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at High’s Chapel with Chaplain Darrel Williams officiating. Inurnment will follow at Webb Cemetery.
