Clifford Ward, 90, a Sparta resident and Campaign native, was born May 2, 1931 and died June 5 at his residence following a sudden illness.

He was a retired machine operator with Magnetek, a United States Navy veteran, and the son of the late Noah Lee and Augusta Mae Jordan Ward. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son Clifford Terry Ward, and siblings Charles Herbert Ward, Theron Ward, John Thomas Ward, Wilmer Lee Ward, Bobby Lee Ward, and Eunice Ward Simmons.

Mr. Ward is survived by children, Jennifer (Benjamin) Rangel of Sparta, Teresa (Mike) Perry, Tim (Susie) Rackley, and Elaine (Harry) McCormick, all of Manchester, and Ann (Larry) Johnson of McMinnville, five grandchildren, Brianna Rangel, Jesus Rangel, Beth Sain, Jennifer Miller, and Adam Perry, several great-grandchildren, nieces, brother Noah Glen Ward of White County, and special friends, Jennie and Tommy Presley.

Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, at High’s Chapel with John Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Cemetery in White County. Visitation will be Tuesday from 33 to 8 p.m., and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at High’s. Online condolences may be made at
