Christopher (Chris) Eugene Rice, 53, of Sparta died Aug. 5 at his home. He was born in Sparta on Feb. 22, 1962, to Harold Eugene Rice and Nancy Sue Thompson Vaughn. Survivors include his mother, Nancy Vaughn and husband Jewell of McMinnville; father, Harold Rice and wife Ann of Sparta; brother, Todd Rice and wife Brigette of Sparta; Niece, Alyssa Rice Masters and husband Aaron; nephew, Bronson Rice; great niece, Lynnleigh Masters and great nephew, Parker Masters; step brothers, Tim Vaughn and Sam Richardson; step sisters, Mechelle Southern and Shelia Dell; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Thurman Funeral Home.
