Mr. Christopher Allan (Chris) Simmons, 50, of McMinnville died Sunday, Oct. 13, at his residence. 

He was born June 29, 1969, in McMinnville, was a truck driver, and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. Chris was preceded in death by sons Christopher Allen Simmons Jr. and Baby Boy Simmons, and his father Carl M. Simmons.

Survivors include his wife Leigh Simmons, sons Nichlas Simmons and Chase Simmons, mother Linda Simmons, brother Brad Simmons, father-in-law Lanny Wanamaker, mother-in-law Barbara Wanamaker, brothers-in-law Barry (Donna) Wanamaker and Brian (Cindy) Wanamaker, sister-in-law Lori (Clyde) Kirby, and fur-ever friend Herby. Other family members and friends also survive. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Avalon Hospice and staff.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Danny Hale will officiate. Interment will follow at Crain Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County. The Simmons family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McMinnville Funeral Home, P.O. Box 7115, McMinnville, TN  37111-7115 to assist with funeral expenses.
