Chester Morris Davis, 72, of McMinnville died unexpectedly Monday, March 4 at River Park Hospital.He was born in McMinnville on June 9, 1940, the son of the late Edna Mae (Christian) and Oliver H. Davis. He was a member of Westwood Church of Christ and retired as a supervisor for TDOT for the state of Tennessee.He is survived by a daughter, Pamela G., and husband, Ricky McClain of McMinnville; two sons Jeffery W., and wife Stephanie Davis of McMinnville, Tony A., and wife, Nancy Davis of McMinnville; two sisters, Margurite Young of McMinnville, Barbara and husband Doyle Pryor of McMinnville; brother, Mike Davis of McMinnville; special sister-in-law, Barbara L. Davis; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and a host of friends; six grandchildren, Neill Simpson and wife Jessica, Melissa Mosey and husband Dustin, Ricky Lynn McClain and wife Rebecca, Shirley Rhea and husband Marty, Kayla Nichole Davis, Amber L. Mathis and fiancée Bud Morrison; three step-grandchildren, Steven Maynard, Shawn Maynard and wife Betsy, and Brandon Maynard and wife Lesie; five great-grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Christine (Marsh) Davis, and two brothers, Gary Davis and Bill Davis.Visitation will be held Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., the time of the service at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home with Coy Hathcock officiating.
