Charlotte Sullivan Certain, 87, a Van Buren County native and Cedar Grove community resident, passed away Friday, June 3, at NHC Sparta after an extended illness.
Charlotte was born on April 5, 1935, in Van Buren County, to the late Jim Emery and Lyla Pack Sullivan. She attended the Baptist Church, participated in the quilting group of Cedar Grove Community Center, enjoyed her garden, and loved to fish.
In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by daughter Chana Bryant, grandson Rick Howard, brother Joe Hubert Sullivan, sisters Betty Hayes and Jimmie Mae Sullivan, and father of her children Bennie “Buck” Bryant.
Charlotte is survived by her loving family, son Larry (Jenny) Bryant of Guntersville, AL, daughters Joan (Leton) Delong of Warren County, Teresa Howard of Bone Cave, Denise Bonds of Rock Island, brother Burton Sullivan, sisters Virgie Walker, Donna Sullivan, Phyllis (Doug) Seaborn and Sharon (Jerry) Moody, grandchildren Tracy McCoy, Jeremy (Amy) Howard, Kayla (Kane) Fuqua, Lenzy Armstrong, Austin (Ciara) Martin, Gus (Natalee) Martin, 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. A large extended family also survives.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, June 5, at 3 p.m. at Long Cemetery with Bro. Mike Rigsby officiating.
