Charles W. Phillips, 53, of McMinnville died Sunday, Sept. 25, at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville after a lingering illness.He was born Tuesday, Sept. 3, 1963 in Gallatin, and was the son of the late Herbert Phillips and Betty Brady Rhea of McMinnville. He worked as a painter and was a member of the Church of Christ.He is survived by his mother and special stepfather James and Betty (Brady) Rhea of McMinnville, daughter Shelby Shockney of Hendersonville, grandchild Careline Shockney of Hendersonville, sister Lisa Phillips Roberts of McMinnville, brother and wife Jeff and Melissa Phillips of Hendersonville, former loving wife and friend Jeane Phillips of McMinnville, sister-in-law Trucie Phillips of Hendersonville, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.He is to be cremated at his own wishes and his cremains given to the family.
