Charles Vernon “Chuck” Layman, 73, died Saturday May 16 at the home of his sister.
He was born in Indianapolis, Ind., on Oct. 13, 191 to Clyde and Jean Walton Layman, who preceded him in death. He retired from IBM in Manassas, Va., and again from Yurozo at Morrison in 2013. He attended Purdue College in West Lafayette, Ind.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Brown Layman; sons, Greg (Robin) Layman and Christopher (Millie) Layman; stepchildren, Shay (Brenda) Rankhorn and Shelia Allphin; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Jo Ann (Jim) McCollum and Catherine Marshall; brothers, Richard (Judy), Roy (Charlotte) and Russell (Jane) Layman.
A celebration of life service will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the People of the Living God Church followed by a private burial for the family only. In lieu of flowers, a gift for medical expenses would be appreciated.
