Charles Thurman Boatman, 90, a McMinnville resident and Algood native, was born Sept. 25, 1929 and passed away Oct. 4 at NHC of Sparta following an extended illness.
A retired materials manager with Carrier Corporation, a U.S. Air Force veteran, and a member of the Methodist Church, he was the son of the late Issac Thurman and Verda Mae Webb Boatman. He was also preceded in death by brothers Billy Ray and John Morris Boatman and sister Jane Elizabeth Boatman.
Mr. Boatman is survived by wife, Rachel Stewart Boatman of McMinnville, two sons and daughters-in-law Charles and Carol Boatman of Louisville, Ky., and David and Aleta Boatman of McMinnville, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law Gail Frances Boatman of New Jersey; two nieces and a nephew also survive.
Funeral service will be 12 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, at High’s Chapel with Sommer Worley officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday at High’s. A very special “Thank You” goes out to the compassionate and professional staff of NHC of Sparta.
