Charles Ronald “Ronnie” Finger, 73, passed away Monday, Sept. 17, at his home in Richmond Hill, Ga.
He succumbed to cancer after a long, hard-fought battle. He was born in McMinnville on Oct. 28, 1944 to the late Charles and Katherine Harris Finger. He leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Geneva Lyle Finger; three children and spouses, Chanda and Jerry Hoover, Phillip and Michelle Hoover, and Frank and Colleen Finger; three grandchildren, Elaina Hoover, Tyler Hoover, and Matthew Hoover; and two brothers, George and Brent Finger.
Ronnie was a retired senior vice president of insurance claims. He took a job in Nashville and then transferred with the company to Albuquerque, N.M. This is where he and his family settled for a little over a decade until a new position pulled him to Charleston, S.C. He had one last move in store to Savannah, Ga., where he spent the last decade of his career. He was an avid golfer with a passion for the sport, and after his retirement, he played golf as often as he could until he became ill. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
A graveside service and interment will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at Mt. View Cemetery with Dorris Hughes officiating. Visitation will be from 12 to 1:45 p.m. Saturday at High’s.
