Charles Norman Morgan, 85, of McMinnville, died Wednesday, Aug. 9 at Manchester Health Care Center. He was born Aug. 27, 1931, in Warren County, was a retired employee of DeZurik Corporation, also worked for the Warren County Sanitation Department, was a member of Locust Street Church of God, and served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Lela Boren Morgan, wife Doris Fay Morgan, son, Barry Lynn Morgan, granddaughter, Crystal Morgan, sisters, Mae McBride, Nellie Meeks, and Lula Ray Bouldin and brothers, James, Otis, and Oscar Morgan.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Audrey Morgan, grandchildren, J.C. (Daiana) Morgan, Andrea (Josh) Thaxton, Barry Lynn Morgan, Jr. and Cordell Ryan Morgan, great grandchildren, Katlyn Morgan, Colt Morgan, Chandler Mason Thaxton, and Charlee-Mae Thaxton, sister-in-law, Helen Morgan, brother-in-law Morris Mason, and extended family, Tim and Lorie Wilcher, Morgan Wilcher, and Sara Wilcher. Several nieces, nephews, family members, and friends also survive.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Roland Sharp will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Military grave rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064. The Morgan family will receive friends Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. and again Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
