McMinnville resident and Detroit, Mich., native Charles “Charlie” Mayfield, 85, died unexpectedly Nov. 12 at Saint Thomas River Park Hospital.
He was employed for several years with Avalon Dairies and was a retired farmer. Having many hobbies, woodworking was his favorite. He was a member of Mt. Leo Church of Christ and the son of the late Clevie and Lillian Ray Mayfield.
Survivors include sons Chuck (Kathy) Mayfield of McMinnville and Tim (Michelle) Mayfield of Webster, W.Va., granddaughter Amy LeAnn Mayfield, great-granddaughter Katy Mae Cantrell, all of McMinnville, brother Bobby J. Mayfield, sister Judy (Joe) Mingle, and sister-in-law Mary Lynn Mayfield, all of McMinnville, several nieces and nephews, and special friends Buster and Betty Bradley of Florida and Boyce Martin of McMinnville.
He was preceded in death by former spouse Sonya Ward Mayfield, brother Billy G. Mayfield, sister Anna (Jim) McAdams, and sister-in-law Ada Glenn Mayfield.
Graveside service will be Saturday at Mt. Zion Cemetery with Bro. Trent Key to officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Centertown Church of Christ, 9265 Nashville Highway, McMinnville, 37110.
