Charles Frank Mayfield, 81, of McMinnville died Tuesday, March 8, at his residence in McMinnville.
He was born Aug. 9, 1934, in McMinnville and was retired as an electrician from Byars Plumbing & Electrical Co., a founding member and assistant chief with Collins River Fire Department until his retirement, and a member and former president of Fairview Community Center.
He was preceded in death by parents Waymon and Eva Higginbotham Mayfield, stepmother Florence Blair Mayfield, sister and brother-in-law Bobbie and Jimmy Langley, brothers Harold Brown Mayfield and T.F. “Buck” Mayfield, daughter-in-law Donna Sue Mayfield, and niece Danita Langley.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Joyce Hillis Mayfield; sons Anthony (Anita) Mayfield and Kendall Mayfield (special friend Kris Ann Stanley); grandchildren Anthony Dustin (Lori) Mayfield, Amanda Nicole Lee Mayfield, and Grayson Mayfield; special grandchildren Amy Melton, Aubriana Melton, and Susie Haley; sister Alma Haley; brother Waymon A. Mayfield; and stepbrother Lee Blair. Other family members and friends also survive.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Larry Bouldin will officiate. Interment will follow at Shellsford Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
