Mrs. Carolyn Marie Belcher, 78, of McMinnville died Tuesday, Feb. 8, at NHC Health Care in McMinnville.
She was born on March 21, 1943 in Dallas, TX, was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, and retired from A.O. Smith. Carolyn was talented in hand embroidery and quilt making, often making baby quilts that she would gift to ladies of the congregation and others. She loved going to Three Star Cinema to watch movies, had a passion for shopping and going to good places to eat, enjoyed going out and about, and most especially favored her time with her great grand babies.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Effie Valenta and Jimmy Wright, son and daughter-in-law Curtis Wayne and Michelle Belcher, grandchild Caitlin Juarez, great-grandchildren Juliet Juarez and Silver Juarez, sister Shelia (Richard) Clark, special family members Glynda Turner and Gidget Cooper, devoted friends from church Barbara Kaelin and Shelby Churchwell, friends from 3 Star Cinema Julie Hobbs and Mrs. Basham, and several other friends and family members. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Mancie Matthew and Effie Mae Daniel Shelton, husband Frank Bryan Belcher, and daughter Terry Lynn Belcher.
Funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 13, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Don Webster and Luther Merriman will officiate. Interment will follow at Morrison Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m., and again on Sunday from 12 p.m. until the time of service at McMinnville Funeral Home.
