Smithville resident and Eva, Ala., native Carolyn Duane Turner, 77, was born April 1, 1938 and died Jan. 16 at Saint Thomas River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A retired employee from Oster Corporation and a member of Corinth Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Linzy Elton and Ann Tanner Mason. She was married Nov. 6, 1971 to Hubert Nelson Turner, who preceded her in death May 21, 2015.
