Burton Jones, 75, of the Green Hill area passed away, Friday, Aug. 12, in Nashville at Alive Hospice following a brief illness.

He was born in McMinnville on Aug. 19, 1946. Preceding him in death were his parents Brackett and Chloe Stoner Jones, brother Clifton Jones and seven sisters Frances Wilson, Opal Cantrell, Geraldean Reynolds, Arlene Oakley, Johnnie Jones, Faye Hobbs and Brenda Gail Bouldin.

He was a retired farmer and nurseryman. Surviving is his loving wife of 56 years, Lena Jones of the Green Hill area, two sons Danny (Penny) Jones, Teddy (Amanda) Jones, both of the Green Hill area, one daughter April (Wes) Winton of Winchester, eight grandchildren, Danielle Glaeser, Gabrielle Locke, Dreama Leemis, Dillon Jones, Dana Jones, Breanna Jones, Julie Winton, and Issac Winton, five great-grandchildren, Scarlett Glaeser, Preston Leemis, Evie Leemis, Sophia Leemis, and Brimlee Jones, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Burton was a member of Bluff Springs Church of Christ and was previously a member of Keltonburg Church of Christ where he served as an elder. He was a vendor at the Warren County Farmers Market for 25 years. Funeral services will be 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug.

14, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Teddy Jones, April Winton and Wes Winton officiating and burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 2 p.m. until time of the service at 4:30 p.m.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
