McMinnville resident and Warren County native Billy Dean McCormack, 81, was born May 7, 1940 and died March 24 at his residence following an extended illness.
A retired employee of Carrier Corporation and a member of Madison Street Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Hosea and Ethel Long McCormack. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandson, Thomas Peach Jr., brother Remus McCormack, two sisters Hozine Copenhaver and Anna Mae Dishman, and half-brother Amos McCormack.
He was married to Carol McCormack of McMinnville on Sept. 14, 1963. In addition to his wife, Mr. McCormack is survived by two children, Thomas Peach and Barbara Ann McCormack, both of McMinnville, two grandchildren, Christina Black and Nickolas Peach, five sisters Virginia Hendrick of Kentucky, Carolyn Williams of Chattanooga, Lucille Bonner of Washington, Sally Flatt of McMinnville, and Glenda Holland of McMinnville, two brothers, Earl McCormack of Rock Island, and Sonny McCormack of McMinnville, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 28, at High’s Chapel with Harlen Simmons and Ryan Hendrick officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday and 10 a.m. until time of service on Monday at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
