Quebeck resident and Warren County native Bill Douglas Young, 81, was born Dec. 25, 1935 and died Dec. 26 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville following a short illness.
A retired truck driver with Textron Camcar and a member of McElroy Church of Christ, he was the son of the late John Dolph and Grace Adcock Young. He was married to Shirley Loice Stiles Young who preceded him in death on Feb. 14. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Marshelle Young Shannon; and two brothers, John and Buddy Young.
He is survived by two sons, Douglas Young of McMinnville and Temo Young of Bone Cave; two grandsons and spouse, Chaz and Britney Shannon of Doyle and William M. Young of Doyle; granddaughter and spouse, Ashley and Justin Highfield of Woodbury; great-granddaughter, Gracie Highfield of Woodbury; sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Ray Bauer of McMinnville; and two sisters-in-law, Susie Young and Jean Young both of McMinnville.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30 in High’s Chapel with Doug Goff officiating. Burial will follow in Shockley Cemetery, Van Buren County. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m., Thursday from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m., and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Friday at High’s. Online condolences may be made at
